Mend’s Purpose

When our founder Mo was asked to share her Psoriasis story in Raemona magazine, she didn't know the journey she was beginning. Sharing her own journey with Psoriasis for 26 years lead to an overwhelming response from the Psoriasis community. She no longer wanted to stand by and see fellow sufferers experience the lack of support and effective treatments. Having had such a strong response from those who are suffering on the same treatment plan for years, restrictive lifestyles, full of shame and judgement from others, Mend was born.

The devastating impact of Psoriasis and other autoimmune diseases are affecting mental health. They inhibit romantic relationships, having families and leaving many with little or no self confidence.

Made for sufferers, by sufferers. We are here to change the conversation, to bring suffering into the open and support lives in all areas affected by these diseases.

Made for Sufferers, by Sufferers.

The first solely autoimmune focused brand created by a sufferer, ever. We will help 70-80% of users see a 70-80% improvement in their Autoimmune related skincare conditions.

Our Mission:

“Mend's mission is to transform the way individuals approach autoimmune diseases by providing holistic solutions that go beyond symptom management.”

Our Vision

To create a world where individuals with autoimmune diseases are empowered to lead lives of vitality and fulfillment. Meet the Founder

Mo’s Story

Hi, I'm Mo, the founder of Mend and I (like you or your loved one), have Psoriasis.

I have psoriasis since my early teens, so it's been 27 years now since i was first diagnosed. I've been there and done it all, training myself not to scratch it, even though you want to pull your entire epidermis right off, the pill boxes full of supplements, the steroid creams (for short term use only .... is 25 years short term use? i think not ), the restrictive diets, the hospital UV treatments 2 times a week and on and on it goes even today as I write this.

When I was young my amazing parents took me to every doctor, specialist and herbalist in the country (Ireland) that they could find to help me, so I was lucky enough to have support at least, but as all of you know, it is not an easy thing to deal with at any time of life.

I am now 41, I have pretty much zero immunity, I catch every cold, flu or virus going, I have drastically changed my lifestyle over the years, food, little or no alcohol, prioritising rest, actively having to think when and if I have the energy for socialising or if it will just make me tired and sick, I have had arthritis since I was in my 20's and what fabrics and styles of clothing I wear depend on what condition my skin is in on any particular day.

And please don't get me started on everyday shower or make up products....we all know, it's a minefield, and the effects of stress on psoriasis sufferers...the joys of being an adult right? It’s been quite a journey, I have lost count of how many times strangers have come up to me and asked me if I was contagious.

Though I consider myself a strong person, I can't deny that the impact on my mental health overall has been vast also and it was really this and reading the stories of other sufferers and how they were feeling, that has led me to found Mend.

So, from me to you- Welcome, I am so glad you are here, I hope we can support you on your journey because..... together, We can Mend.
